"Mellow Yellow" is one of Donovan's most famous and misinterpreted songs. I promised another popular theory: is that the title refers to Donovan’s bout with hepatitis in early 1966, which left him jaundiced. Ultimately, Donovan describes the song as being about his own "mellow" and laid-back demeanor, which he achieved through meditation rather than drugs.

May 3, Chicago III had already spent weeks in the Top 10. It was famously kept out of the #1 spot only by the massive Jesus Christ Superstar soundtrack.
A "Triple Threat": Remarkably, on this date, Chicago's first two albums (Chicago Transit Authority and Chicago II) were also still on the charts, meaning the band had three double albums charting simultaneously—a rare feat in music history.
